William S. Haynes solid silver flute number 40,483.

“Handmade construction”, French (open fingerhole) keywork to low B, in-line G, soldered tone-holes, extended key arms over the pad cups.

The instrument was constructed with .014 silver tube, soldered tone-holes.

Sounding length is 636 mm (A=440), the embouchure measures 10.0 X 12.1, giving the instrument a wonderful singing tone color.

Total weight is 420 grams. All pads and corks are new. The original case is in good condition.

This particular instrument is somewhat special, in that we have full history of its history since it was new.

Acquired by us from the family of a gentleman who performed with the Symphony Orchestra of Westchester for several decades. It’s a fine example that’s come to us with a rich history and a promise of many more years of future service. $5,350
