American flute from the workshop of Alfred G. Badger, made in New York City 1870 – 1890 (?).

Seamed silver tube with maker’s gold cartouche, no serial number.

No silver hallmarks, perhaps .800 alloy.

Embouchure is 10.0 X 12.3.

B-flat foot. Total sounding length is 674 mm. 512 grams, total weight.

Plays well at A:443-4.

Acquired by us from an estate sale in Tennessee. The instrument wears what appears to be original pads.

All parts original and unaltered.
